Favourite Old-Fashioned Gingerbread Cake: 

Ingredients:  

• ½ cup unsalted butter, softened 

• ½ cup white sugar 

• 1 large egg 

• 1 cup molasses (“Fancy”) 

• 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour 

• 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda 

• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 

• 1 teaspoon ground ginger 

• ½ teaspoon ground cloves 

• ½ teaspoon salt 

• 1 cup warm water 

Directions: 

• Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).  

• Grease and flour a 9-inch square baking pan. 

• Combine butter and sugar until creamy. Ventolin 

• Mix in the molasses and egg until smooth. 

• Combine dry ingredients together in a separate bowl.  

• Add to the mixture and combine well.  

• Mix in warm (not hot) water until smooth.  

• Pour into a greased pan and cook for 30 minutes. Insert a toothpick; it should come out clean.  

• Allow to cool. Serve with intention and a dollop of ice cream.
