Call for Mentees

The Austin UXPA mentorship program promotes learning partnerships among professionals in the UX field including those just starting out. Our aim is to connect UX professionals based on their career development goals, years of professional experience, and areas of expertise.

The program runs from 10/1/23 - 12/18/23. To participate, mentees must submit their applications by September 20, 2023. 

Completing the form does not guarantee that you will be matched. In the event that we do not have enough mentors or mentees, you may be added to a waitlist for the next cohort. Pairs are expected to have meetings online or in person once a month for the duration of the 10-week program.

At the end of the term, we’ll ask for your feedback which will help us evolve our program.

FAQ

What qualifies a Mentee? 

To be a mentee you must currently be in a UX position or actively working on entering UX (through school, Bootcamp, or self-education).

You must currently live in the Austin area and be able to commit to the full four months of the mentorship program.

Who will be mentoring me? 

We have mentors at all levels and we’ll do our best to match mentees and mentors based on their goals, interests, and experiences.

What do I do as a Mentee?

As a mentee, you are responsible for your own growth. Your mentor will be there to support you and be a sounding board but you are responsible for doing the work. You should have 1-3 clear goals to work on with your mentor.

At a minimum, you and your mentor are required to meet for one hour a month.

Can I participate if I don't live in the Austin Area?

Yes, you may apply, but we are prioritizing designers who live in the greater Austin area. Strengthening the Austin design community is part of our core mission.
