Where do I begin? How about, hi!
My name is Chris and I am an ISSA Elite Fitness Coach with over 10 years of special needs care experience, mainly autism. I began my journey into the world of autism in 2011 where I got my first job as a para professional, an in-class teachers assistant for elementary and middle school students. How green I was, not knowing how to do anything but put smiles on the kids faces during recess and PE. All I wanted was to see these kids enjoy life and blossom!
In addition to being a para professional for CVUSD, I spent a couple years working as an ABA/RBT therapist for STARofCA, Channel Island SS & Right Choice In Home Care, along with volunteering for summer camps as a Camp Counselor, then quickly promoted to Camp Supervisor for LA Urban Family Retreat held by Joni & Friends and World Impact, the next summer camp season. Finishing off as a personal one on one In-home caregiver.
In 2013, I began teaching group classes for The Camp Transformation Center as a second job. Which started my venture into the fitness industry!
Working both as a para and a group class trainer, I then started mapping out how I could in corporate fitness with the kids I worked with at the school, and Ausome Fitness was born. Since that time, I started offering one on one AND group training sessions for children and families of the autism community through sports and fitness.
I've travelled the WORLD, that's right, THE WORLD helping kids with autism. I appreciate so much the community embracing me as I go forward in learning as much as I can!
I value health. I want to teach families, (yes, even the parents) the importance of a healthy lifestyle and how to do it together!
