Aurum consists of 3 different committees for our general members to join: Research, Media & Design, and Professional Development! Committee members are able to explore the different sectors of the beauty industry, whilst developing transferrable skills and enhancing the overall club community. Professional Development Committee:

We are currently organizing a speaker panel with beauty experts from diverse roles within the industry, offering you the chance for one-on-one conversations and advice to help you shape your career. Research Committee: 

Join the Research Committee and dive into the exciting world of product development (PD) and research & development (R&D) in the beauty industry! This is the perfect space for anyone passionate about the scientific and technical aspects of cosmetics. Our committee offers hands-on experience working with ingredients, exploring their properties in both lab settings and kitchens. As sustainability becomes a top priority, we’re committed to incorporating sustainable practices into our projects. This semester, we kicked off with a body butter project that focused on anhydrous formulas, which are more eco-friendly than traditional water-based products. We also worked on a rice-toner project to emphasize the importance of shelf life and preservation in DIY cosmetics. Along the way, we experimented with ingredient ratios, gaining valuable insights into how these affect product consistency and efficacy. With past speaker panels featuring experts like cosmetic chemists, product developers, and business owners, the Research Committee is a great place to grow, learn, and connect with fellow aspiring cosmetic chemists. Whether you’re part of the committee or not, we aim to build an inclusive and supportive community for everyone interested in cosmetic science. Media and Design Committee: 

Join the Media and Design Committee and become a key player in shaping the visibility and impact of our club! If you're passionate about marketing, design, writing, or content creation, this is the perfect opportunity to unleash your creative potential in a collaborative environment. We work on a variety of exciting projects, from managing our social media platforms and creating engaging blogs to producing our very own magazine, which will showcase all of Aurum's events and committees like a yearbook-style lookbook. We're also building our media presence on Instagram and TikTok, so join us in creating fun, shareable content! As part of the committee, you'll gain hands-on experience in designing, content creation, and digital marketing, while expanding your skill set in a supportive community of beauty enthusiasts. Plus, with our goal to print and share our magazine with members and grow our TikTok following, there's plenty of room for you to contribute and make an impact. Whether you're looking to build your portfolio or network with fellow creators, the Media and Design Committee is the place to be!
