General Borrowing Policies
I. Elementary Pupils
1. Pupils are allowed to borrow two (2) books per day, renewable once only. Items borrowed on Monday are due on Wednesday. Items borrowed on Tuesday or Wednesday are due the following Monday, since the Elementary Department holds face-to-face classes only from Monday to Wednesday. Failure to return borrowed materials on time will result in a fine.
2. Every school pupil is required to apply for a Library Access Card to avail of library privileges.
3. Pupils who borrow any type of print or non-print materials are required to present their School I.D. for validation and deposit their physical Library Access Card at the counter.
4. During the borrowing process, pupils are required to sign the printed official receipt as acknowledgment of the transaction.
5. Unauthorized or unregistered users (those without a valid Library Access Card or School I.D.) are not allowed to borrow any library materials.
6. Instructional Media Materials (non-print materials) and Reference Books are for Room Use Only.
7. Photocopying of books or periodicals is limited to twenty (20) minutes and must be accompanied by a Xerox Pass Number.
8. For reserved materials, the holding period is limited to three (3) hours. If not claimed within this time, the materials will be made available to the next borrower.
9. For E-Book requests, please ask the librarian for assistance.Â
II. Elementary Faculty and StaffÂ
1. May borrow a maximum of five (5) books, renewable once. The borrowing period is good for fourteen (14) days or two (2) weeks.
2. Faculty and staff are required to present their Faculty I.D. for validation and deposit their Library Access Card at the counter.
3. During the borrowing process, faculty and staff are required to sign the printed official receipt as acknowledgment of the transaction.
4. Unauthorized or unregistered users (those without a valid Library Access Card or School I.D.) are not allowed to borrow any library materials.
5. Instructional Media Materials and Reference Books are for Room Use Only.
6. Photocopying of books or periodicals is limited to twenty (20) minutes and must be accompanied by a Xerox Pass Number.

III. Non-Elem. Faculty Members, College Students, and AU EmployeesÂ
1. May borrow a maximum of three (3) books, renewable once. The borrowing period is good for seven (7) days.
2. All borrowers are required to present their Library Access Card for validation and deposit their School I.D. or any valid I.D. at the counter.
3. During the borrowing process, borrowers are required to sign the printed official receipt as acknowledgment of the transaction.
4. Unauthorized or unregistered users (those without a valid Library Access Card or I.D.) are not allowed to borrow any library materials.
5. Instructional Media Materials and Reference Books are for Room Use Only.

IV. Alumni / other Researchers
(can have access to library materials but for ROOM-USE-ONLY)
Requirements:
1. Alumni – Must present a valid Alumni I.D.
2. Visiting Users – Must present a Referral Letter from their Chief Librarian and pay a fee of thirty pesos (₱30.00) for succeeding visits, payable at the Bursar’s Office.
3. Photocopying – Photocopying of books, periodicals, and non-print materials, including e-books, is subject to the librarian’s approval and directives.
V. Fines & Penalties
1. Pupils with overdue book will be charged one peso(P1.00) /book/day, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays payable at the Bursar’s Office.
2. Students Teachers or college students with overdue book will be charged ten pesos(P10.00) /book/day, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays payable at the Bursar’s Office.
3. Faculty members and Employees with overdue book will be charged twenty pesos(P10.00) /book/day, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays payable at the Bursar’s Office.
VI. Instructional Media Materials
1. Pupils, Faculty, and Student Teachers must fill out the Instructional Media Resources Reservation Form if they wish to use the AV Room of the University Library or the Elementary Library Multimedia Section. Availability for both facilities is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please ask the librarian for assistance.
2. The borrowing of non-print materials such as globes, maps, CDs, charts, speakers, microphones, TVs, LCD projectors with stand/slide, educational board games, kits, educational toys, and models for classroom use must be recorded through scanning and requires users to deposit their Library Access Card.Â
VII. Multimedia & Internet Access Guidelines
1. To use a computer for Internet access, all users must present and scan their Library Access Card to log in.
2. Computer use is on a first-come, first-served basis, with 15-minute time slots and a maximum of 30 minutes per day, unless no one else is scheduled.
3. The library’s computers are to be used for educational, informational, and recreational purposes only, and not for unauthorized, illegal, or unethical activities.
4. Library personnel have the authority to request a user to exit an Internet site if it is deemed in violation of this policy.
5. For access to E-Journals, online periodical resources, and E-Book collections, please ask the librarian for assistance.
6. To access the library’s Wi-Fi, you may ask the librarian for the password or scan the Wi-Fi QR Code access point and deposit your Library Access Card.
7. Everyone is expected to follow these Internet use guidelines; failure to do so will result in the loss of Internet access privileges.Â
VIII. Defaced, Mutilated and Lost Books
1. Borrowers who return damaged books will be charged one hundred pesos(P100.00) upon the returned of book payable at the Bursar’s Office.
2. If the pages are severely torn, a replacement of the same or its latest edition is required within a week plus one hundred pesos(P100.00) processing fee payable upon the return of the book. Borrowers who do not replace the book will not be issued clearance.
3. A lost book while out on loan must be replaced with the same title within a week plus one hundred pesos(P100.00) processing fee payable at the Bursar’s Office.Â
