President

Danny M. Bagnoni

Since 2016, Dan is a major contributor to the Augusta Sailing Club junior program. Volunteering to coach, driving the junior racing program, and working to get kids on the water. Currently serving a 2-year term beginning 2023, Dan has lived and worked in the CSRA since January 2001. He has been sailing a variety of boats for about 15 years. He maintains the Community Sailing equipment, teaches adult sailing classes, serves as the Aquinas High School Sailing Coach, and is a certified US Sailing instructor. The organization has received donations of more than 20 boats that are used to run programs, and form a mutually beneficial partnership with the Spirit of America Foundation.

Jaime Putnam

Jaime Putnam married into a sailing family in 2005 and had no choice but to jump into sailing with both feet by joining the Augusta Sailing Club in 2006.  She and her husband have traveled the Southeast racing J22s, EScows and Lightnings together and now enjoy watching their children participate in Junior Sailing, Sail Camp, and many out of town Regattas.  Jaime is a local Realtor and knows one of the “Best Kept Secrets in the CSRA” is the Augusta Sailing Club.  Jaime is excited to share her love of sailing with Augusta Community Sailing.

Mike Pryor

Mike has been a member of the Augusta Sailing Club since 2020 and has enjoyed small boat sailing since his youth.  He and is family returned to August in 2018 following 25 years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force.  They are active volunteers in the Augusta Sailing Club and several Augusta community organizations.

Maria Henry 2022-2023

Maria Henry has been a member of the Augusta Sailing Club since 2013. Since then, sailing has become a cherished part of her family’s activities. She enjoys E Scow racing on a crew with her father and brother-in-law (also Augusta Sailing Club members) and, is sharing the sport with her young daughters who are learning to sail through Junior Sailing Practices and Summer Sail Camp. Maria works as the Chief Communications & Engagement Officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta. She believes in serviceto her community and is an advocate for organizations, such as Augusta Community Sailing, that promote opportunity and new experiences for people from all backgrounds.

Founding Directors

Kimberly Bagnoni

Kim is a Past Commodore of the Augusta Sailing Club and past coordinator of the Augusta Sailing Club Junior Program. She developed systems and procedures to significantly improve the sail camp. Her effort led to the creation of the first high school sailing program in our region. Kim is a US Sailing level 2 instructor, and works with our local partners to improve all aspects of training, safety, and communication in our programs.

Daniel Fodera

Daniel Fodera is an avid E-Scow sailor, skippering E-Scow and keelboats, as well as serving as crew for others. He has taught youth sailing for several summers and is a US Sailing level 2 instructor. He is a past Commodore of the Augusta Sailing Club. Daniel served in the US Navy as a Naval Air Crewman and is a veteran of conflicts in Lebanon, Bosnia, and Iraq. He works for the Federal Highway Administration. 

Tony D. Coy

Tony served as the first President of Augusta Community Sailing. Tony retired in 2020 after 32 years practicing law in the areas of adoption, child welfare and bankruptcy. He served previously as Commodore of the Augusta Sailing Club and for three years on the Financial Review Committee of the South Atlantic Yacht Racing Association. He has been sailing for over fourteen years, including participation in international sailboat races and crewing in multiple boat deliveries. He has also served as a race official for over twelve years at Charleston Race Week.
