The PS-DER research group aims to reconfigure the conventional power system into a modern power grid - the smart grid. Recent research tendencies towards the development of various smart grid applications have demonstrated rich and diverse prospects, deserving further investigation. Thus, this research group focuses on investigating the applications of smart grid, not limited to, but preferably in the following potential areas:
Active distribution networks
Energy management systems
Distributed generation
Electric vehicles integration
Renewable energy resources integration
Charging schemes
Modern energy storage systems
Electricity theft detection
Short/mid/long-term load forecasting
Networked micro-grids
