Mission
Through participating in diverse cultural experiences, occupational theory/model development, and research, I aim to increase awareness of occupational science and justice within the field of occupational therapy through the preliminary development of a model of practice that encompasses ethical practice surrounding International Service Learning. I intend to build my skills as an occupational therapist and future educator alongside other specialized skills to become a holistic clinician and member of the occupational therapy profession both domestically and internationally.
Vision
Utilizing unique knowledge about health care systems and cultural competency gained from diverse cultural experiences, I aspire to contribute to the OT profession by researching, educating, and disseminating valuable theories, models, and qualitative findings to service-learning practices within the profession. I aim to help change the field of occupational therapy by promoting occupational justice and equity as a researcher and educator, emphasizing that access to meaningful occupations is a global health concern.
