2025 Wrap Up

At the start of 2025, we had an amazing time welcoming first-year students during O-Week on 26 February. Meeting so many enthusiastic students eager to explore dermatology and plastic surgery made our stall a huge success!

March 2025 was an exciting month as AUDPS partnered with the Adelaide Medical Students’ Society (AMSS) to raise awareness and funds for melanoma research and prevention.

Highlights:

• Bake Sale - 14 March: Delicious treats supporting a great cause.

• Book Drive - 17 March: Members donated books sold to raise funds.

• Melanoma March - 23 March: AUDPS and AMSS supported the Australian Melanoma Research Foundation and the Melanoma Institute of Australia.

Total raised: $1,500 💰 - securing a spot in the top 5 fundraising teams in SA.

Special thanks to Yuna Kim (2025 Vice President and Secretary), whose careful planning helped bring these events together.

On 1 May 2025, students got hands-on practice in suturing and punch biopsy techniques, and explored careers in dermatology and plastics.

Special thanks to the doctors who guided the sessions: Dr Thomas Mathew, Dr Zoe Lee & Dr Hamish Moore.
Acknowledgement to Freeman Zion and Yuna Kim, who organised the event and ensured it ran smoothly.

Students had the chance to:

• Practice suturing & punch biopsy techniques

• Network with peers and clinicians

On 3 September 2025, we hosted Advanced Suturing Night & Plastic Surgery Interest Night. Students refined advanced techniques and explored career opportunities in plastic surgery.
