Founded and led by medical students from the Adelaide Medical Students' Society (https://www.amss.org.au/medsocs/audps), AUDPS aims to provide meaningful exposure to the fields of dermatology and plastic surgery through a carefully curated calendar of events. Our initiatives range from hands-on suturing workshops and anatomy tutorials, to dermatology interest nights, career panels, and interactive skills sessions facilitated by respected clinicians.
We recognise that dermatology and plastics can sometimes feel distant or exclusive due to their competitive nature and limited undergraduate exposure. Our mission is to bridge that gap - offering accessible, practical, and high-quality educational opportunities that allow students to engage with these fields early in their training.
AUDPS events are designed to support students at every stage, from pre-clinical foundations to clinical rotations. We place a strong emphasis on procedural competence, clinical reasoning, and mentorship. Participants leave not only with enhanced skills but with a clearer sense of what a career in dermatology or plastic surgery entails.
Beyond the academic benefits, AUDPS is proud to cultivate a strong sense of community. We believe that collaboration, curiosity, and inclusivity are the cornerstones of a successful medical career - and our society reflects those values at every level.
Whether you're considering a specialty in derm or plastics, or simply have fun, AUDPS offers a welcoming to support your journey.
