Support
Your listening inbox, all in one place.
AudioMode helps you save podcasts, podcast episodes, RSS feeds, web links and supported audio in one place, so you can build your listening queue, listen offline when supported and continue exactly where you left off.
To add something to AudioMode, tap the + button inside the app or share a supported link to AudioMode from another app.
AudioMode supports links from podcast platforms and other websites. When possible, it automatically identifies the corresponding public podcast feed or compatible audio source.
For podcast links, you may be able to choose individual episodes, select several episodes at once or follow the podcast for future episodes.
When you add a video, podcast or web link, AudioMode may automatically look for a compatible public audio version or podcast source.
If a strong match is found, AudioMode lets you choose whether to use the compatible audio version or keep the original link.
If more than one possible match is found, AudioMode may ask you to choose the correct podcast or audio source.
If no reliable match is available, the original link remains available and AudioMode may offer another search or indicate that audio playback is unavailable.
AudioMode does not extract protected audio from the original service and does not bypass DRM, paywalls, access restrictions or other technological protections.
AudioMode supports background playback and Lock Screen controls.
Depending on the content, you can also use features such as:
playback speed;
Sleep Timer;
bookmarks and notes;
chapters;
Repeat;
Up Next;
Previous and Next controls.
Your listening progress is saved automatically so you can continue later from the same point.
The Inbox is where you keep content you want to listen to.
Up Next is your listening queue. You can add, remove and reorder items so AudioMode knows what you want to hear next.
Items can also be marked as favourites, completed or archived.
When you follow a podcast, AudioMode can check its public feed for new episodes.
By default, new episodes are not automatically added to your Inbox. You can enable automatic addition separately for each followed podcast.
If automatic downloads are enabled, eligible new episodes may also be downloaded according to your download preferences.
AudioMode may automatically recognise when links from different podcast services refer to the same podcast, helping avoid duplicate podcast entries.
Supported audio can be downloaded to your device for offline listening.
Offline availability depends on whether AudioMode can legitimately access a directly downloadable audio source.
AudioMode does not extract protected audio or bypass restrictions from services such as YouTube, Spotify or other proprietary platforms.
Removing a download deletes the local audio file but does not remove the item from your AudioMode library unless you choose to remove the item separately.
AudioMode includes Home Screen widgets.
Widgets can show information such as:
the item you are currently listening to;
whether playback is active or paused;
your Up Next queue;
the number of items waiting in your Inbox.
Widget updates are managed by iOS and may not always appear instantly.
When CarPlay is available, AudioMode provides a simplified audio experience designed for use on the road.
CarPlay can provide access to:
Up Next;
Inbox;
followed podcasts;
Now Playing controls.
CarPlay uses the same AudioMode library, queue and playback session as the iPhone app.
Some CarPlay controls and visual behaviour are managed directly by iOS and the vehicle system.
AudioMode provides actions that can be used with the Apple Shortcuts app.
Available actions may include playback, navigation and Sleep Timer functions.
Where supported by iOS, some actions may also be available through Siri.
Siri voice recognition, language support and the way spoken commands are interpreted are controlled by Apple and may vary depending on the language and version of iOS.
Some links point to webpages, video services or proprietary streaming platforms rather than to directly accessible audio.
In these situations, AudioMode may:
look for a compatible public podcast or audio version;
suggest one or more possible podcast matches;
preserve the original link in your Inbox;
allow you to try the search again;
indicate that audio playback is unavailable.
Not every video or web link has an independent compatible audio version.
If something does not work as expected:
Make sure you are using the latest version of AudioMode.
Check your internet connection if the content has not been downloaded.
Try refreshing the podcast or content.
Close and reopen AudioMode.
If you are using a widget, allow a little time for iOS to refresh it.
If you are using CarPlay, disconnect and reconnect CarPlay if the interface does not refresh.
If the issue continues, contact us with a short description of what happened.
