Psalm 16: verse 2-3, 11
I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have nothing good besides You.”
As for the saints who are on the earth,
They are the majestic ones; all my delight is in them...
In Your presence is fullness of joy.
There is so much in this psalm; I encourage you to read it fully and slowly.
Let us rejoice along with David with this truth . “You are my Lord; I have nothing good besides You.”
There is only One,
There is nothing else we need.
There is no one else.
The riches of this world do not compare to the fullness of joy that it is to be in His presence.
To receive His salvation.
There is absolutely nothing else that compares. Nothing!
In Verse 3, David states, “As for the saints who are on the earth, they are the majestic ones; all my delight is in them. " Not only did David declare there is nothing good besides God, he also expressed here how he delights in His people. Do we delight in the Saints, the body of believers, our fellow churchgoers, and participants in the New Covenant? Do we love them as we are called to love one another? Can we truly say there is nothing good besides our Lord and live that out in all that we do, think, and believe?
As we enter a month when we think of love, may we reflect on our Love for our creator, our everything, our salvation, the one who first loved us. May we ponder how we view the members of the Church, our fellow eternity neighbors.
May we say, like David, “You are my Lord; I have nothing good besides You.” and rejoice in Him. He is way more than Enough!
With His Joy and Love
