By installing or using the Atypical Bookmarks Chrome extension ("the extension"), you agree to these terms.
What this extension does
The extension lets you save "projects" consisting of a topic name, a text note, an optional voice recording, and up to 10 related URLs, for your own personal organization and reference.
Local-only storage — please read this carefully
All data you create is stored locally on your own device, inside your Chrome browser profile. There is no cloud backup, account system, or sync.
This means:
If you uninstall the extension, your saved projects (including voice recordings) are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
If you clear your browser's site/extension data, reset your browser profile, or your device is lost, damaged, or reformatted, your saved projects may be permanently lost.
We have no copy of your data anywhere and no ability to restore it under any circumstances.
You are responsible for backing up anything important to you — for example, by keeping a copy of important notes or links elsewhere. Do not rely on this extension as your sole record of critical information.
No warranty
The extension is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee the extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of bugs.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer(s) of this extension are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the extension — including but not limited to loss of saved projects, notes, URLs, or voice recordings.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the extension only for lawful purposes. You are solely responsible for the content you record, type, or save using the extension, including any URLs you add. The extension does not review, moderate, or have visibility into your content in any way.
Microphone use
Voice recording is entirely optional and only occurs when you actively click "Start Recording." You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to record any audio you choose to save, and for complying with any applicable recording-consent laws in your jurisdiction if you use this feature to record conversations involving others.
Third-party links
URLs you save are provided by you, and opening them (individually or via "Open All") takes you to third-party websites the developer(s) do not control and are not responsible for.
Changes to the extension or these terms
We may update the extension or these terms at any time. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
Termination
You may stop using the extension at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to discontinue or modify the extension at any time, for any reason.
