This experiential idea had blossomed after Christian and Jerrica facilitated immersive therapeutic retreats together and found themselves craving more creative freedom to incorporate things they feel passionate about and believe in. They agreed that facilitating a more conscious mind-body connection was the most integral part of preparation for the journey.
Jerrica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and owner of More Being: Holistic Psychotherapy & Intentional Healing. After working in wilderness therapy for three years, Jerrica received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. She has had extensive experience with adventure and outdoor programs and was a lead therapist with a residential treatment program for adolescent girls before working as a private practice therapist. She currently facilitates multi-day intensives for individuals, couples and families in addition to her work in her private practice. Jerrica is also a therapist, consultant and team member for the non-profit combating mental health and suicide stigma in action sports, Somebody's Thinking About You.
Jerrica has helped people of all ages acknowledge the power of vulnerability and develop healthy communication & boundaries skills. She specializes in connecting how present day struggles, family of origin, experience of shame, attachment, and our relationship with self all play a role in the underlying work. She works from a holistic lens and implements a range of tools, with a focus on the mind-body connection, to effectively address the traumas that can create our darkest parts. She supports her clients in figuring out how to shine light in the places that feel most vulnerable, and finds power in curiousity and compassion.
"As humans we are constantly navigating internal and external stress, expectations and criticism. When we can explore our internal landscape in the presence of a loving other, we can also discover more compassion and presence with Self. Being is existing with consciousness, remembering who you are, and living by it with balance, exploration and freedom. More being is what I aim to support others in discovering."
Christian is the founder and owner of Attunement Psychotherapy and Psychedelic Healing. His first foray into the world of healthcare was through wilderness therapy. He quickly realized he enjoyed the "therapy" part of wilderness therapy as much as being outdoors. He decided to pursue this line of work as a career and continues to use the power of adventure and experiential education as a catalyst for change within himself and those he serves. He has nearly 10 years of experiences in different behavioral health settings, including wilderness therapy, substance abuse, adolescent residential treatment, community advocacy, and harm reduction.
As a practitioner, Christian views therapy as a spiritual process orienting one toward wholeness and peace. He values many aspects of this western paradigm and brings in knowledge from other spiritual traditions that our society has excised from the mental health space.
Christian believes in doing his work and continues to study, attend his own therapy sessions, cultivate spiritual practices, and engage in ceremonies facilitated with indigenous wisdom, both with sacred plant medicine and without. He is a lifelong learner and frequently studies alongside his clients to best help them reach wholeness.
