While we are privileged to be in positions to do science, we view this opportunity as luck as much as effort (à la Sapolsky). We aim to make this chance count by verifying dogma across biology, and by diversifying not only strategies for solving longstanding problems, but also the socioeconomic backgrounds of investigators engaged in scientific discovery.
I received my early training in classical biology at Madras Christian College (Chennai, India), and earned graduate degrees in field biology at the Salim Ali School of Ecology (Pondicherry, India) and Murray State University (Kentucky, USA). I completed my terminal degree at the University of Oklahoma (Norman) under the guidance of Prof. Larry Weider, and trained as a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Bob Sterner at the University of Minnesota (St. Paul). I have been enjoying life and science in Stillwater, Oklahoma, since 2009.
