Puni Jeyasingh
I grew up in the suburbs of Chennai (Madras), India. I learnt basics of biology from Prof. PSR Reddy at Madras Christian College, and field biology from Prof. Priya Davidar at the Salim Ail School of Ecology, Pondicherry University. I emigrated to the USA for graduate school at Murray State University (Kentucky) to study Caribbean termites with Prof. Claire Fuller for a MS. Then, I moved to the University of Oklahoma (Norman) for doctoral studies with Prof. Larry Weider where I was introduced to ecological stoichiometry and studied Daphnia. I trained as a postdoc with Prof. Bob Sterner at the University of Minnesota (St. Paul) and moved to Stillwater, OK in 2009.
