Duration: 5-weeks | Mode: Self-Learning | Format: Hands-On Projects
Eco Innovators is a 5-week long intensive, self-driven bootcamp designed to empower participants to transform the challenge of waste into opportunities for innovation. The program encourages creative thinking, problem-solving, and practical action through both tech-based and non-tech solutions.
By the end of the bootcamp, participants will not only understand the complexities of waste management but also implement real-world solutions that create measurable impact in their homes, schools, apartments, or communities.
The bootcamp is open to all students studying in classes 4 to 12 from the 40 ATL Sarthi Cluster Schools in Bengaluru and other ATL and non-ATL schools in Bengaluru.
Stage 1 – Foundational Learning (15th April to 21st April)
Access curated self-learning resources on the web portal to:
Understand the challenges posed by urban waste; Explore methods of waste reduction, reuse, and recycling; Identify opportunities for innovation in waste management
Learn about design thinking approach to problem-solving
Review reference project ideas on waste management or come up with your own project idea to build in Stage 2
Stage 2 – Project Development (22nd April to 28th April)
Plan your waste management project
Acquire hardware skills (if any) needed for buildng your project
Acquire software skills (if any) needed for building your project
Start building your waste management project idea
Stage 3 - Project Refinement (29th April to 5th May)
Build your waste management solution to adequately address the identified need or challenge. Seek help and guidance from your teachers, parents or mentors to complete the project.
Stage 4 – Real-World Application (6th May to 12th May)
Deploy your project in a real setting—your home, apartment, school, or community. Encourage people to adopt and use your solution.
Stage 5 – Project Journey Documentation (13th May to 19th May)
Record and document the outcomes of your initiative. Submit evidence of how your project created change and benefited users.
Stage 6 - Project Journey & Impact Showcase (1st week of June)
Showcase the impact of your change-making project and be recognized as an Eco-innovator.
This bootcamp follows a self-learning model. There are no formal teaching sessions or classes conducted by mentors or facilitators. Success depends on your ability to:
Take initiative
Stay motivated and disciplined
Complete self-learning modules, quizzes, and project work using the online resources
To qualify for recognition at the end of the bootcamp, you must submit evidence of your project work and its real-life impact.

Receive guidance and encouragement from mentors
Guest Lectures: Experts from the academia & industry and top Student Innovators & Change Makers will deliver online sessions related to waste management and conduct live demonstration via Google Meet / YouTube live sessions.
Field Visits: Field visits (to FSID and other organizations) will be organized during the 5-weeks of the bootcamp. Interested schools can register to participate along with their students. As slots are limited, opportunity will be given on first-cum-first-serve basis.
Q&A Sessions: Organizing team will set up Q&A sessions every week to address your queries and provide project-related support.
Mentoring Sessions: Student participants can connect with their choice of Mentors and engage with them via Google Meet or Zoom sessions.
Final Showcase Session: At the end of the bootcamp, participants will present their projects, celebrating innovation & impact, and be recognized as Eco-innovators.

Your efforts and achievements will be celebrated through:
Participation Certificate: Awarded to all participants who successfully submit their projects with complete evidence of their work.
Change Maker Certificate: Conferred upon the Top 10 participants whose project submissions demonstrate the most impactful outcomes, supported by strong evidence.
National-Level Opportunity: The Top 3 participants will be invited to join the National Tinker Champs Club — a prestigious network of student innovators from across India. As members, they will collaborate on national-level initiatives and contribute to driving meaningful change across communities.

Eligibility: Both Students and Mentors can register for the bootcamp and participate in different roles.
Participation: Students may participate individually or as part of a team. Each team can have up to 3 members, including the team leader.
Registration Process:
Individual Registration: Individuals attending the bootcamp need to register under the "Individual" head.
Team Registration: Teams should register under the "Team" head. Only the Team Leader should complete the registration form, listing the names, classes, and school details of all team members. Individual team members need not register separately.
Mentor Registration: Mentors should register under the "Mentor" head. AIM appointed Mentors of Change & Regional Mentors of Change, School Teachers, Parents of Children, Senior School Students, and College Students from Mentor India Academy can register as "Mentor" and support the student-participants during the entire duration of the bootcamp.
Mentor Access: Email IDs of mentors will be shared with participating students on the bootcamp portal so they can connect with them for guidance and support.
Deadline: The last date for registration has now been extended from 14th April to 17th April 2026.
Communication:
Registered participants must join the official Bootcamp WhatsApp group. The joining link will be displayed once the registration form is submitted.
All announcements and updates will be shared only through this WhatsApp group. No separate emails will be sent.
Queries & Discussions: Participants can post questions or discuss project-related queries directly with Bootcamp Mentors in the WhatsApp group.
