Queenesha Herbert is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Michigan, and Florida, and Certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist (C-DBT). Additionally a Maryland Board Approved Counseling Supervisor, who is also trained in Psychological First Aid and certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED instruction.
As a practitioner, Queenesha's focus on providing individual Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), with an emphasis on empowering clients to develop a sense of self-worth & cultivate a life worth living. I am also an approved clinical supervisor for LGPC in the state of Maryland. With extensive years of experience in the field of mental health, Queenesha is a dedicated and passionate professional who specializes in working with at-risk and transitional age youth, as well as members of the LGBTQIA community between the ages of 10-35. The practice at There's A Time and A Place welcomes and is open to working with children, adults, and families.
Queenesha's approach to mental health care is centered on the belief that "You are the expert on you." Empowering clients with the skills and resources she has learned, and works collaboratively with them to develop a personalized treatment plan that they feel comfortable implementing. Her goal is to help each individual explore and cultivate a life worth living.
One moment that solidified Queenesha's desire to become a therapist was seeing firsthand how many youth's feelings were dismissed and their behaviors unfairly accused by adults in their lives. She knew she wanted to be a listening ear and advocate for these individuals, and has been committed to that goal ever since.
