The executive branch in Athyla is one of the three main branches outlined within the Federal Papers, intended to act as the central administration responsible for the enforcement of laws and policies, as well as management of the country's resources and affairs. The head of the executive branch is the chancellor, who acts as the chief executive of the nation and is responsible for overseeing all executive duties and activities. The central location of the executive branch is located at the Verandenon Chancellery, the central residency and workplace for the chancellor.
Other components of the executive branch include the Board of Trustees, which serves as the chancellor's cabinet of advisors, composed of the head of each department (otherwise known as directors.) The Board of Trustees provides vital counsel and support in the development and implementation of policies, enabling for the current administration to move forward with their goals. In addition, the executive branch also consists of all departments and their subsequent government agencies, each responsible for a specific area of the government, such as finance, foreign affairs, defense and education.
The executive branch holds significant powers and responsibilities, aimed at balancing power between the three branches of government, this includes the power to veto legislation, appoint select government officials (including the directors,) administer the country's budget, as well as represent Athyla in international affairs.
