Athens County Job & Family Services has a Senior Emergency Assistance (SEA) Program, a grant-funded program providing financial assistance to older adults in our community. The program provides up to $1,000 per year in assistance to eligible Athens County households. Applicants must be Athens County residents with at least one adult in the household who is 60 years of age or older. Assistance may be used for essential needs including mortgage or rent payments, property taxes, insurance, utilities, necessary home repairs, appliances, furniture, pest control, and certain cleaning products and equipment.

Residents interested in applying should download and complete the Senior Emergency Assistance Application Packet attached to this announcement. The packet includes application instructions, a list of eligible services and items that should be reviewed and signed, and the application form.
