Upcoming WCA Events

Below is our calendar of events, which includes our monthly meetings. If you use Google Calendar, you can add our calendar to your own! Simply click the 'add to Google calendar' button in the bottom left corner of the calendar below.

The WCA meets regularly on the last Wednesday of the month, from 6:30-8 pm, in the Sanctuary of the Central Avenue Church. Click here for directions.

While our meetings are 90 minutes long, you are welcome to stay as long as works with your schedule.

  • Note: Only 10 spots are available. Tickets cover a drink, painting instruction, all painting tools & supplies. Spooky fall themed!

  • Location: Athens Public Library

  • Note: Please note that for security reasons after hours programs will not admit any attendees past 10 minutes after the program's scheduled start time. Please plan to arrive on time.

• October 24 -  Pizza, Pumpkins, and Progress: A WCA & NRI Open House (1-4 pm)

  • Location: Central Ave. Church (73 Central)

  • Note: Pizza & soda available as well as pumpkins to take home and decorate! Drop by any time to learn more about the WCA and our Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative.

• October 25 - 5th Annual Witches Paddle (4-6 pm)

  • Location: The Boat House at Strouds Run

  • Note: Arrive at 4:00 to greet your witches and be prepared to launch at 4:15. The Witches Paddle is open to anyone who would like to dress as a witch and come out onto the water together! After our float, join us to enjoy a fire and hot beverages on land.

  • Location: Court Street, between Union Street and Washington Street

  • Note:  Enjoy an afternoon of family-friendly activities in Uptown Athens. For details or more information, contact Athens Arts, Parks & Recreation at 740-592-3325.
    
    

• October 31 - Uptown Business Trick or Treat (2-4:30 pm)

  • Location: Uptown

  • Note: Participating businesses are encouraged to display signage so families know where to stop for treats.
    
    

• October 31 - Athens Neighborhood Trick or Treat (5:30-7:30 pm)

  • Location: Throughout Athens

  • Note: Homes wishing to participate should turn on their front porch lights.
    
    

• October 31 - Athens Uptown Block Party (6-12:30 am)

  • Location: Court Street near Fern Alley/Carpenter Street

  • Note: The stage location has changed from last year and will be on Court Street near Fern Alley/Carpenter Street. Food vendors interested in participating should contact the Office of Code Enforcement for location information. Space is limited.
