The WCA meets regularly on the last Wednesday of the month, from 6:30-8 pm, in the Sanctuary of the Central Avenue Church. Click here for directions.
While our meetings are 90 minutes long, you are welcome to stay as long as works with your schedule.

On May 16, the WCA helped to host the first annual Westside Porchfest!
The NRI steering committee and additional WCA volunteers helped to gather feedback on what Westsiders would like to see in our neighborhood in the next 5-7 years.
On January 8, the WCA hosted a food distribution event following a food drive. We were able to give out 35 Kroger paper bags full of self-stable groceries out to community members.
Special thanks to White’s Mill, ReStore, West End Ciderhouse, Miller’s Chicken, Phoenix Nest, and Central Avenue Church for assisting with our food drive!
On October 24, the WCA hosted a pumpkin pick-up. Thanks to White's Mill for supplying our pumpkins!
The WCA hosted the 2025 Neighborhood Yard Sale for August 30 - 31.
We also had a truck from Zero Waste on hand after the sale on Sunday to take away any unsold items folks wanted to get rid of.
Brian Koscho from Invisible Ground joined WCA members to share more about the incredible history of White's Mill and the Westside of Athens.
The WCA helped with efforts to tidy up our neighborhoods in April 2025. Afterward, we also hosted a casual evening meetup to celebrate the day's work at the West End Ciderhouse.
All 3 candidates for Ward 1's City Council seat joined WCA for a meet & greet at Arts West.
