College Prep Seminar
"A Student's Guide to College Prep" seminar will be hosted tomorrow August 30th at 6:00 pm on Zoom by Abby Lazarus, one of our Beta Club Members. It will contain lots of helpful information for all grade levels about how to approach high school in a way that will benefit your college applications, as well as how to go about filling these applications out.

The Relationship Between Human Senses & Chips Survey:
What: This is for an AP Research Project that explores the relationship between the human senses and chips that individuals consume between the age of 14-22 years old.

December 2020:
Hope for the Holidays
What - Donate a new book and a family board game (worth around $20) for 4-5 year old's. Please be sure to get age-appropriate books. Read the board game labels to ensure the game is safe and age-appropriate. For books, buy books that are for 4-5 years old or books where the children can learn/adapt overtime. We will accept books in English or Spanish. Earn 2 points for donating both a book and board game.
When - All items are due by THIS Friday, December 11th!
Where - You can turn in items to Mr. Patterson's Room 1218 OR you can drop them off on Thursday, December 10th from 3:30-4:30 PM. NHS Officers will be available to collect your donations and sign your point sheet. Go to Door #4. This door is downstairs blue house by the T-buildings. Take the covered walkway up to downstairs blue from the blue parking lot to the right of the T-buildings. Swing a right walking around the outside of the downstairs blue LGI. NHS Officers will be at Door #4 at the times listed above. They will sign your point forms.
You can also drop them off at the rotunda, and address the donations to Mr. Patterson.
Why - Help the AHS National Honor Society with their annual drive for sponsoring elementary students. Due to Covid-19, this year will look different where donations for books and board games will only be accepted.
The donations will be used for a toy drive for Northbelt Elementary. While only a few miles away, NBE is a Title 1 school with 90% of its students at or below the poverty line. Our hope is to ensure that all of these kids have something to look forward to this holiday season with a Santa's Workshop. 85 Pre-K students will be able to go "shopping" in a "Christmas store" that will be set up at their school and filled with the donations that YOU can help provide! Please donate if you are able, and thank you for your generosity!

Spirit Night at MOD Pizza sponsored by Student Council:
What: MOD Pizza Spirit Night sponsored by the Atascocita Student Council.
Why: Help give back to our community by buying pizza from MOD. All proceeds earned from this event will be donated to HAAM in support of Thanksgiving. Due to the circumstances of Covid-19, this spirit night is taking the place instead of the annual Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive.

Leadership Seminars: Beta members will have the chance to build leadership skills by speaking or finding someone, such as teachers, organizers, and general experts in an area, to speak at a seminar!

Seminars will be virtual and done via Zoom
Leading a seminar = At least 3 points
Finding a speaker = 2 points
Attending a seminar = 1 point

October 2020:
Homecoming Deck the Halls (3-9 PM): Various organizations, classes and individuals come out to create and paint posters to decorate for AHS Homecoming. This year's theme is : The Masquerade! For supplies (butcher paper, paint, paintbrushes) meet in Red House 1. You may also bring your own supplies but GLITTER IS NOT ALLOWED!
