Current situation.
Cantabria is an autonomous community in Spain. It has 582,388 inhabitants, of which the 51.5 percent are women and the other 48.5 percent are men. Nowadays if we compare us with other communities, Cantabria is one of the best in having less Coronavirus cases, what leads to a major independency in putting less constraints.
Economy.
Everyone already knows tourism is the main source of income providing lots of jobs to local people, but aside of that, Cantabria is becoming deindustrialized. More and more industries are leaving the region, so the ones which resist have to grow to compensate the decrease of the activity. For example, Aspla, which is a well-known sign here is planning to triplicate its size, which will mean an increase of jobs and economy.
Solutions.
It is no easy to reach a growth in a short period of time, but there are some possibilities to start changing it.
On the one hand, Government could focus less their financial helps only to tourism and they could siphon the founds to help local industries, giving them a hand to grow and to choose to stay and not to move to other communities.
On the other hand, what could be also done is to promote Cantabria in advertisements, to attract big industries showing them examples like Nestle which is the perfect role model that here big sings can grow and make a name for their selves.
