This, by far, has been one of my favorite projects I've done for any class I've taken. On Thursday, March 7th, I attended an Introduction to Psychology lecture at Connecticut College, where I work (perks of working in higher education!). Professor JM, who happens to be my former advisor, graciously allowed me to sit in on her lecture so that I could try the Livescribe pen in action! This was an educational experience because I learned how to use a new piece of AT, but I was also able to learn more about myself, my note-taking habits and style, and the cadence and speed of my handwriting.
There are so many cool features to this assistive technology (AT) including, but not limited to:
Tracking your handwriting, writing style, and pattern
Converting handwriting to a digital type format
Exporting your notes via Email, Google Drive, or OneNote
Searching your handwritten notes for keywords
Listening to the recording from class and filling in missing information...and so much more!
