How do generalized global symmetries constrain the possible phases of matter and their phase transitions?
In what ways can projective measurements be leveraged as a tool to probe and characterize phases of matter?

In collaboration with Takuya Okuda and Hiroki Sukeno (SciPost Phys. 17, 133), we investigated anomaly inflow and dualities in quantum and statistical models using the chain complex structure of CSS codes. A CSS code can be expressed within the chain complex framework introduced by Yoshida and Kubica (arXiv:1805.01836). By taking the tensor product of a CSS chain complex with a one-dimensional chain complex, we constructed a foliated chain complex, which provides a natural setting to analyze anomaly inflow in CSS codes. This framework also offers a systematic way to study dualities in both quantum Hamiltonians and classical statistical mechanical models. In addition, we explored certain higher-dimensional models with subsystem symmetries and computed their ground state degeneracies.

In collaboration with Yabo Li, Hiroki Sukeno, and Tzu-Chieh Wei (Phys. Rev. B 109, 245129), we investigated Kramers–Wannier duality symmetries and Kennedy–Tasaki transformations in subsystem-symmetric models. In a subsequent work (arXiv:2505.18119), we extended this study to symmetry-protected topological (SPT) phases that simultaneously exhibit Kramers–Wannier duality and subsystem symmetries. There, we identified examples of higher-order SPT phases protected by non-invertible symmetries.

In collaboration with Yaman Sanghavi (arXiv:2511.13833), we investigate Kramers–Wannier duality defects in classical statistical mechanical models and their corresponding quantum Hamiltonians using the CSS code chain complex framework. Employing tools such as cluster states and their entanglement structure, we construct explicit realizations of these duality defects. This approach reproduces known results in (J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 49, 354001), while also providing a natural generalization to higher dimensions. A detailed account of this work will appear on arXiv soon.
During my Master's studies, I worked on topics in conformal field theory, large N Chern-Simons matter theory, and open effective field theory.
