 AstroHabesha Initiative

AstroHabesha is a student-led astronomy education initiative based at Haile-Manas Academy, Ethiopia, dedicated to introducing space science in a simple, engaging, and accessible way for young learners. Our program is designed for students who are curious about the universe and want to explore topics such as the solar system, stars, galaxies, and basic astronomy concepts through both online and in-person learning sessions. We organize structured training programs, interactive discussions, and hands-on projects to help students build strong scientific understanding and practical skills. In addition, we offer opportunities for students to participate in coding and video creation competitions, where they can apply their knowledge creatively and contribute to educational content for others. AstroHabesha also works to expand access to science education across different regions of Ethiopia, aiming to build a strong community of motivated learners interested in STEM fields.
