Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering Singapore Institute of Technology
Dr. Tan Kuan Tak received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2008 and 2014, respectively. In 2013, he joined the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, as a Research Engineer and subsequently as a Research Fellow until 2015. He then joined Ngee Ann Polytechnic as a Lecturer in 2015. In 2018, he joined the Singapore Institute of Technology as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022. He is registered as a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council, UK, and as a Certified Energy Manager with the National Environmental Agency, Singapore, and the Institution of Engineers, Singapore. His current research focuses on microgrid energy management systems, condition monitoring systems, renewable energy technologies, electric vehicles, energy storage systems, building energy management systems, demand response, and smart grids, and applications of artificial learning to healthcare applications.
