Tasik Biru Lake
Tasik Biru is located in Bau, Sarawak and is one of the tourism destinations in Bau. Tasik Biru is well known for its scenic lake and is home to large geodiversity as well as biodiversity.
The easy accessibility to Tasik Biru makes this tourist attraction one of the most popular in Bau. Offering basic but unique experience in its own way such as hiking and boat riding.
Tasik Biru is owned by Bau's district council which is Majlis Daerah Bau (MDB). The are is under Yang Berhormat Dato Henry Harry Jinep which is one of the members of the Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN).
During our visit to Tasik Biru, our observation was keen and we found out that Tasik Biru heavily depends on the company Roxy. They had a Roxy cafe and also a Roxy hotel implemented in their services. We were sceptical about this and thought that Tasik Biru is now owned by Roxy company.
The entrance fee depends on age, each offering different prices ranging from just RM 5 for children and RM 10 for adults. These prices includes packages for example all purchase offers a boat ride and free drinks.
Tasik Biru owns their own F&B service called Rock Cafe which serves primarily soft drinks and mineral water for hiking. They also offer accommodations such as their famous floating hotels which is temporarily closed due to renovations.
Tasik Biru is open during business hours from Monday to Friday starting 10 am to 6pm.

The distance from UITM Kota Samarahan 2 to Tasik Biru is about 41 km. It takes a total of 45 minutes to arrive to Tasik Biru excluding busy traffic. The accessibility to Tasik Biru is pretty straightforward with street sign guiding us from Kuching to Bau.
This proves that government is continuing to advertise Tasik Biru as one of its tourist destination by putting traffic signs directing to Tasik Biru.
