Empowering educators with tools and strategies to design meaningful assessments and drive student success.
Series Description:
Teaching by Design is a dynamic professional development series that equips faculty and academic leaders with practical skills and innovative tools to enhance assessment practices. Across four interactive sessions, participants will explore how to create and use rubrics aligned with learning outcomes, leverage AI to streamline assessment design, interpret assessment data to inform instruction, and collaborate effectively to support continuous improvement.
Whether you’re refining rubrics, integrating technology, or using data to tell the story of student learning, this series offers actionable insights to help you design assessments that truly make a difference.
Structure:
Each session will consist of a 45-minute presentation/group discussion, followed by a 45-minute workshop where participants can work on their own projects with assistance from the presenters. Participants can choose to stay for the entire session or only part (attendance will be taken for each part). If attending in-person, be sure to bring a device.
Workshop descriptions, dates, times, locations, and meeting links can be found on the Academic Planning Calendar in your myWSUTech portal!
