PORΦRIN based Macrocyclic LAB

The research journey of our lab revolves around the porphyrinoid macrocycles. Exploring the world of porphyrinoids by incorporating different molecular entities within them and thus creating novel macrocycles with desirable properties and applications forms the base of our research interests. Synthetic pathways for the preparation of expanded and contracted porphyrin analogues, porphyrinoids embedded with a wide variety of organic moieties, metal complexes of porphyrinoids etc. are being explored through our research projects. Along with tailoring these molecules, investigations are being made on their exciting spectral, structural, optoelectronic and sensing properties. These molecules open up opportunities to investigate their promising applications in medicinal fields and thus encouraging us to keep going. Starting from haemoglobin and chlorophyll, the porphyrin and porphyrinoid chemistry will never fail to fascinate us.
