Radio Operations

• Keep the assigned radio turned on and sufficiently audible throughout the shift unless otherwise directed.

• Remain on the assigned channel unless a supervisor or management directs you to change channels.

• Do not reprogram radios, alter frequencies, or modify company equipment beyond normal authorized operation.

• Keep the lapel microphone, when provided, accessible and uncovered.

• Protect radios, microphones, batteries, and chargers from avoidable damage and weather exposure.

• Report malfunctions or unusual wear to supervision.

• Return radios to the designated location or charger at the end of the shift unless otherwise directed.

Remember: Radio traffic is not private. Do not unnecessarily broadcast personal, medical, confidential, or client-sensitive information.
