• Background Location Data: Device location in the background (even when the app is closed or not in use) to automatically detect, track, and record driving trips.

• Trip Information: Dates, times, distances, start/end locations, and trip categories.

• User Input: Optional notes or custom trip details you manually enter.

• Diagnostics: Optional technical error logs if you choose to export diagnostics for support purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

• Track and classify mileage automatically.

• Estimate tax-deductible mileage or expense reimbursements.

• Generate PDF and CSV reports for export.

• Provide AI-powered analysis of your trip history (Pro features).

• Improve app reliability and troubleshoot technical issues.

4. Data Storage

• Trip logs and app settings are stored locally on your mobile device by default.

• If optional cloud backup is introduced in future versions, it will require your explicit consent.

5. AI Features

When you use AI-powered features, only the minimum information necessary to process your request is transmitted securely to the AI service. AI responses are generated based on your trip data and do not constitute formal legal, tax, or financial accounting advice.

6. Data Sharing

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or location data to third parties or advertisers.

• Data is transmitted solely to essential third-party service providers (such as AI chat APIs or map/geocoding services) strictly to deliver app functionality.

7. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You maintain complete control over your data. You may:

• View and export your trip history at any time.

• Delete individual trips directly within the app.

• Permanently erase all stored app data at any time via the in-app settings or by clearing storage in your device settings.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption protocols to protect data transmitted to AI and map services. Local device storage relies on native Android operating system security protections.

9. Children’s Privacy

AskMiles is not intended for or directed toward children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by local law).

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The latest version will always be accessible within the App settings and on our official Google Sites page.
