The Mathematics Club was launched under the leadership of Mathematics Teacher, Mrs. Reisha Andrews-Dick in September, 2022.
The main objective of the club is to make students comfortable with using the mathematical skills and knowledge acquired, through games, projects and other activities.
One main event that students participate in is the UWI Math Fair. It is usually an inspiring experience for students as they get a glimpse of all the ways Mathematics can be useful and important in everyday life as well as future careers. It helps a great deal that they always meet up with past students (current UWI students), most of whom studied Additional Mathematics while at our school..
The club also celebrates PI Day each year by engaging the student body through displays and fun activities.
Many members of the club participate in the Austrialian Mathematics Olympiad.
The Scrabble Club has the honour of being the first club established at this school since 2001. Members participate in two major competitions annually i.e. the First Citizens' Scrabble Competition and the National Scrabble Association Secondary Schools' Scrabble Competition.
In 2019, in an effort to attract more members, the club expanded its scope to include puzzle building.
The L.A.D.Y. Club was started in 2022 by Mrs. Safeeya Baksh-Gyan. The concept was to have a club that was not academic or sport based, but one that was focused on developing or teaching life skills. Hence, the reason it was called L.A.D.Y (Learn About Developing Yourself). The Club usually aligns the activities for the term with the school's theme for that term. Since the inception the girls have learnt how to:
Repair a hemline
Stitch a button onto clothing
Basic yoga poses
Make healthy smoothies
Introduce themselves in a formal setting
Handshake etiquette
Dining etiquette
Skin and hair care (facilitated by past student Ms. Celine Mottley)
They also spent time while in Form Four, with the Form Three students, sharing their experiences and giving advice on choosing subjects.
The Environmental Club, S.A.V.E.D. (Students Acting Via Environmental Development) aims to highlight environmental issues and encourage eco-friendly practices that would hopefully become a permanent part of students’ lives.
Over the years S.A.V.E.D. has provided many enjoyable but educational activities for its members such as movies, field trips, guest lectures, paper making (using recycled paper), gardening and organic cooking.
S.A.V.E.D. also co-ordinated our school’s participation in the EMA Bottle Recycling Competition in 2005 and won First Place despite being one of the smallest participating schools.
The Club has also held school-wide campaigns (e.g. “No plastic bags!”) and inter-house competitions such as a very successful plastic bottle recycling competition.
Join us in protecting our environment.

Mrs Shaffie’s vision of a table tennis club for A.S.J.A. Girls’ College came to realization when, in September 2013, with the assistance of Ms Karim, the club was started. Disadvantaged by the lack of a Physical Education class, both teachers set out to ensure students were afforded the opportunity of physical activity at school.
Apart from learning and having fun in the sport, the club seeks to foster discipline and all round development by encouraging students to work hard, comprehend success and failure, handle conflict by thinking critically and understand their role as individuals in a team.
