Our team has developed a copper metal mesh on on any desired transparent substrate, which exhibited a visible transmittance (T) more than 85% and sheet resistance (Rs) ~ 0.83 ohm per square. These transparent and flexible EMI shields made of metal mesh coatings on desired transparent substrate shows remarkably high values for total EMI shielding (SET), with the average value being ~ 41 dB over a wide spectral range of the Ku band (12 to 18 GHz).

A novel recipe for fabrication of Hybrid electrodes which brings down its production cost by 80% compared to tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) based technology which is currently in use. In this project, along with our industrial partner Hind High Vacuum (HHV) Pvt. Ltd. , we have set-up a semi-automated production plant for production of low-cost Hybrid electrodes funded by DST-Nanomission in CeNS-Arkavathi campus. It is a good example of a successful collaboration and work between a research institute and industry.

We, a team of researchers Dr. Pralay Santra, Dr. Ashutosh Singh, and Prof. G. U. Kulkarni from CeNS, have come up with a simple TriboE mask, which is made of commonly available materials e.g., polypropylene and nylon. When we rub these materials, it develops triboelectricity which should in principle prevent viruses, droplets and other particulate matters passing through the mask. This innovation was highlighted in DST news as well as PIB and several other news outlets. Links are given below:
