Music is about connection. I play, teach, write and produce music with my whole heart.
Whether showing a six-year-old Twinkle Twinkle or arranging a classic rock hit for a marching band, I am honored to help people connect with and realize their dreams.
My first musical memory is dancing with my mom to the Beverly Hillbillies theme song. What a song! It tells an adventure story with a wild banjo jam that made three-year-old me jump around and get down. This joy followed me to the Yamaha Music School, where we integrated singing, movement, and keyboard skills, making neural pathways that enabled me to not only reproduce what I hear, but compose variations and then original material.
Music opens our hearts, inviting us into comfort, experimentation, or both. I teach music like a language: my students listen, analyze, read, and improvise, so that they are ready to perform Happy Birthday in the dining room or write songs for their own rock band or DJ endeavor. Whether your studies are serious or casual, music literacy better empowers anyone to unabashedly sing to babies and dance at weddings.
These days I rehearse and perform with my bands, record and release my originals, teach my piano students, and complete transcription and arranging contracts. I regularly accept commissions to write personalized songs for all occasions.
Having recently studied Audio Engineering at Lane Community College, I also offer audio engineering and live sound services. I can mix your recording and make it sparkle, or contribute to your sound team at live events.
To embrace music is to embrace life. In both the best times and the worst times, music bridges the physical and the spiritual, and celebrates our gifts of listening and expression. I want music to be ever more accessible to everyone, and I've dedicated my life to it.
I'd love to hear from you. Let me know your ideas for projects, or any questions!
