In early March of 2020, Maryland officially went into lockdown and schools across the state were closed down in panic due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This meant I had to spend my last year of engineering and the end of my junior year in quarantine, doing engineering work online. We used the SkillsUSA online courses to learn about reliability, resourcefulness, and resilience. This also meant that the most important events, but less important than someone's life, were to be canceled. This included prom, graduation, SkillsUSA events, Tech Center graduation, mock-interviews, SolidWorks certification exams, etc.
Overview:
"This fundamental course segment includes a course pre-assessment, an introduction to all student characters learners will "meet" during the course, and the following content units: Reliability, Resourcefulness and Resilience. These three content units develop the SkillsUSA Framework Essential Elements found within the personal skills component."
For regular schooling, my high school used programs such as Schoology, Edgenuity, Edmodo, and Passport in order to still continue teaching even with the rest of the 2020 school year being cancelled.
As Covid progressed into 2021, my college years were plagued with online web courses or zoom classrooms. We used MyMathLab Pearson, MyLearning, and I also used Chegg to rent out my college books.
