"Great vision without great people is irrelevant."
The Fall 2024/Spring 2025 chapter members gather to celebrate a year well spent.
Appalachian State's nationally recognized Society for Human Resource Management Chapter, founded in 1970, is among a network of over 545 collegiate chapters across the United States. The global SHRM's association mission is to provide resources, education, networking, and professional development opportunities for HR professionals (SHRM). Similarly, the student chapter at ASU strives to create opportunities for students interested in, and fields related to, Human Resources. The chapter does this through engaging general body meetings, consulting opportunities, service events, and various networking events. Please take a look through this website to see more details about our SHRM student chapter!
Every year, SHRM chapters across the nation submit consideration to be nationally recognized by the SHRM governing body. There are various levels of recognition awards, and for the 2024-2025 academic year, SHRM ASC earned the highest merit award offered. This distinction is called the Outstanding Merit Award and denotes that our chapter at ASU continuously strives to contribute to the professional development of its students and finds creative ways to offer hands on learning to chapter members.
