Getting Involved with us is easy to do and rewarding.
Our members learn valuable skills and make life long friends & contacts.
Even if the service itself doesn't apply to your Major, our members acquire useful "soft" skills.
Adapt your communication style to overcome language barriers, varying educational backgrounds, and emotional situations.
Understanding & embracing other cultures through immersion.
Learn to be flexible to situations as plans change due to unforeseen circumstances.
Direct exposure to human suffering due to natural disasters or economic hardship deepens your sense of empathy.
Boost your confidence: Successfully completing difficult, meaningful work in an unfamiliar and challenging environment fundamentally boosts your belief in your own capabilities.
In addition, if you participate in our Spring Break Service Trip you can earn Exp+ — a necessary component for all SBU students to graduate!
Join us as we travel to locations on Long Island to provide volunteer services ranging from beach cleanups to gardening & weeding.
Some common partners include:
Bethel Hobbs Farm
CEED Nature Center
Habitat For Humainty
Local Animal Shelters
And many more....
Each year during Spring Break we venture to a location in need somewhere in the continental United States.
We team up with a nationally recognized organization to provide services in areas affected by economic and/or natural disaster related hardships.
