After a tragedy such as a school shooting, there are a lot fo questions that need to be answered and there is a lot of people who will be in need of support for their own personal mental health. Seeing that the actual even may only be a few minutes, the recovery after is ongoing and often a bumpy road.
Here is a short film that was produced by the FBI that talks about the aftermath and recovery after a school shooting. This video talks about how schools need to provide the feeling of physical and psychological saftey after an attack happens.

According to the American School Counselor Association, Here are some tips they have provided with helping students in the aftermath of a school shooting
Keep routines as normal as possible, this includes attending school
Limit exposure to television and the news
Be honest with students and share with them as much as you can that is developmentally appropriate
Listen to students fears and concerns
Reassure students that the world is a good place, but there are still people who do bad things sometimes
Families and adults need to first assess their own responses to crisis and stress
Rebuild and reaffirm attachments and relationships
This video depicts what the students that were a part of the school newspaper at Parkland did after their school shooting on February 14, 2018. These students created an in memoriam for all of the souls who lost their lives. These students talk about their experiences and how putting together this issue helped them cope with the tragedy they went through.
