Welcome to my website! I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati. I have more than 10 years of experience in research and teaching, which also includes a stint at the Brown International Advanced Research Institute (BARI), Brown University, as a Population and Development Fellow.
Before joining IIT, I was an Assistant Professor at the School of Public Policy and Governance, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad Campus. I have been instrumental in designing the course curriculum of the M.A. Degree/ Diploma Programme in Cities and Governance ( C&G) at TISS and also revising the existing curriculum of the MA in Public Policy and Governance Programme.
I completed my M. Phil. and Ph.D. from the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. I have an interdisciplinary background with a Master's in Geography, M.Phil. and PhD. in Population Studies and an extensive research experience in development studies.
I did my Post-Doctoral Fellowship with the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), New Delhi, on a cross-country project- ‘Sustainable, Healthy, Learning Cities and Neighbourhoods (SHLC)’ funded by the United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI), and managed by the University of Glasgow. In NIUA, he has worked on several projects funded by UNICEF, UNDP, ICMPD, and ICLD. I was also part of the research team that provided input for the National Urban Policy Framework (Draft) of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
I welcome any academic collaborations in the areas of migration, urbanisation, urban policies and related development issues.
