Dubai-based carrier Emirates has recently announced a daily A350-900 service linking Dubai and Arusha. The airline has acquired slots for gate A2 and B1, which it will share with KLM and Qatar Airways respectively.
Qatari flag carrier Qatar Airways has sent their flagship Boeing 777-300ER to Arusha in order to cater to the rise in demand in tourism to the region. This aircraft is scheduled to replace the 787-8 Dreamliner that Arusha usually sees.
Iraqi Airways, the state-owned flag carrier of Iraq, has recently sent their Boeing 787-8 registered YI-ATC to Arusha from Baghdad. The aircraft, carrying a group of Iraqi diplomats, is expected to depart back to Baghdad on the 8th of November, a week after its arrival.
Dutch flag carrier KLM has sent their final remaining 747-400, PH-BFT, to Arusha for one last time before its retirement. The "Queen of the Skies" has left behind a monumental legacy for its revolutionary impact on civil aviation. KLM have had a long history with sending its 747s to Tanzania, with its inaugural service to the region on the type being way back in the 1980s. The dutch carrier has decided to pay tribute to this by sending its iconic aircraft to Arusha one last time, from where it will be flown to Dar es Salaam and then Zanzibar before heading back home to Amsterdam.
