AGW has now been demolished as of October 2024, and will be replaced with another airport soon.
Transferring onto your connecting flight is easy and straightforward at Arusha. Upon arrival, simply head through the transfer hall after security.
For international transfers, simply head to the transfer hall upon arrival. Please keep in mind that you will go through a security check and will require a boarding pass. You will not require a visa unless you intend to exit the airport at any time.
If you have arrived at Arusha Domestic Airport (ARK) and have a connecting flight from Arusha New Airport (AGW), please go through arrivals, collect any checked luggage and head to the transfer desk, where you will be guided to a shuttle bus which will take you to AGW. From there, please check in your bags again and proceed through security. Please keep in mind your itinerary will require a layover time of at least 4 hours.
If you have an overnight stopover, you are free to stay at the AGW Airport Lodge, which is a 5-minute walk from the airport. Please note that you will need to exit the airport and thus will require a travel visa, but you won't need to collect your baggage or check in again if you have already checked in and have tickets for your connecting flight.
If you have missed your connection, please head to the counter of the airline with which you have booked your flights if available, where you will be rebooked onto another flight and given accommodation as well as vouchers.
