...site under construction...more changes coming...eventually!...
Projecting an image onto canvas or paper is a traditional method used by artists, even before cameras were invented. This machine, the Beseler "Vu-Lyte, projects the 2-D image up and out through the lens, and then I trace all pertinent lines, saving me much time. Your skill level then determines how successful the final image will be!
After my camera went digital, and my photos were in the computer, I started projecting my images using a small projector direct from the computer. I still print my images so I have something to refer to when painting or drawing.
When I worked at Import Bazaar, doing all the ads for the newspapers, all my drawings were done from the item set up in front of me, no projections involved. Examples of those can be seen in my drawing section.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Energy and movement,...the element of surprise,...the usual made unusual,
...slightly distorted realities: these are my themes.
I believe there is more to what we see than can be seen at first glance. The more you look, the more you see.
I delight in learning new techniques and then combining them with ways of doing art that I had used before. These are often inspired by thinking outside the box and learning and working on my own, which involves the “what if I try this” method, inspired by “eureka” moments. It’s very exciting when what came before and what can come next becomes the logical next step!
