I am an Economist at the Finnish Economic Policy Council and a recent Ph.D. graduate in Economics from the University of Helsinki. My research lies at the intersection of public economics, labour economics, and the economics of inequality, with a particular focus on equality of opportunity, intergenerational mobility, and the evaluation of public policies.
My doctoral dissertation, The Lifecycle of Inequality and Opportunity: Childhood Neighborhoods, Redistribution, and Lifetime Pensions in Finland and Europe, examines how inequality evolves over the life cycle. The three essays study the effects of childhood neighborhoods on later-life outcomes, the relationship between redistribution and equality of opportunity across Europe, and asymmetric information in the Finnish pension system.
During my doctoral studies, I was a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University and Opportunity Insights under the supervision of Professor Raj Chetty. My research combines large-scale administrative data with modern causal inference methods to address questions in public and labour economics.
