Our Approach

Our Beginning 

The Hub was originated by Emily and Pat through creative conversation while in graduate school at AGS in 2016 as we discussed creative community groups and needs for emerging art therapists going through the process of becoming. Kristin joined the conversation in 2021 adding roots and structure, and her expertise in the field as well as her space/place making with Tree of Life Art Therapy Training Center. In 2023 Erin joined the advisory board to add her community outreach power to launch our first CEU in Spring 2024 with Jess Waldron. 

We hope to be joined by many more of you in the future in this collaborative, group effort. 

The Hub is currently in a foundation period of mission, vision values and large growth and expansion as we discover what our community is asking for and needing in times of transition.

Art(s) Therapy Hub (the HUB) is and will be a collaborative group of board-certified art therapist educators and community members who are passionate about facilitating collaboration and support for creative clinicians, both emerging and established. 

We chose to parenthesize art(s) in our name to be inclusive of all kinds of creative expression (visual art, music, drama, dance, movement, healing arts, etc). We  welcome all creative clinicians to be a part of the community, connect with us, and join the projects and events we host.

The HUB offers relational, supportive, strengths-based, and trauma-informed art-based spaces. We use a lens rooted in social justice, multicultural and LGBTQIA2S+ intersectionality, decolonial/re-indigenizing practices, and trauma stewardship for our consulting clinicians. 

We strive to be welcoming, fun, thoughtful, and creatively rooted in our style while offering dignity and a positive, humble, mutual aid outlook. 

We offer: consultation, supervision, education, trainings, teaching, learning, workshops, CEU's, and various services for the community. We welcome any folks that would like to contribute and join our collective work and sit in deep humility in our community.
