Palsson Elementary - Mar 7, 8, 9, 2023
This is the first in a series of five. These are our two champion teachers who made this program happen for a second time at Palsson.
At dinner, meeting a Palsson parent who works at the local cafe. It's part of the special fun of being in a small community. It's such a big deal to meet each other, and we get to hear about her child's involvement.
The good thing about having a rock'n'roller doing your school program is that it infuses your rehearsal/performance space with an energy that kids immediately respond to...very first thing in the morning!
One of the educators who puts their heart and soul into making curriculum connections to the song lyrics. This drives the students' engagement in the songs, because they learn about the ecological content. The more they learn about nature, the more they understand. The more they understand, the more they come to love nature and want to protect and conserve ecosystems and wildlife.
When parents hear their children singing and speaking out for nature, they love it. The program and concert create a space where the school community can express its caring for their world. These parents make amazing sculptures from lichen, mushrooms, sea shells, and they brought them out at the concert.
