-Curriculum Assessment and Art Education-
Below are some Lesson Plans created for the eight-week Arts program at PVO South Elementary School focusing on a variety of artists, making different artworks each week. Students learned about their identities and not to be afraid to be bold and stand out, as well as the importance of community and standing up for one another.

Week 1 & 2 - "I am a Revolutionary" Project
During this week students will learn the importance of speaking up for each other as well as sticking together. It's important for students to know that they will be challenged by the world and will be put in situations where society will want to put them against each other and no matter what they need to know that they must stay united at all times. With the "I am a Revolutionary" Project, Students will create posters of themselves to display in the exhibition later this year.

This week will require students to think outside the box, students will open their minds and think creatively to alter reality and make it their own altered reality scenarios they will work together and communicate with each other about what each of them would like to see in their altered realities which they will then get to talk about later with the class when finished if they choose to.

Week 4 - "If I could I would" Portraits
Students will be writing down things they would change about their look to represent themselves better and then will draw portraits of themselves with those alterations to their portraits by first tracing their printed-out picture onto a clear sheet of plastic paper which they will then trace that with a regular sheet of paper where they will then add their alterations and also color in their portraits.
Diego Rivera
This week will require students to use their observation skills to critique Diego Rivera’s piece “La Pinata”. Students will first learn about Diego Rivera's artwork before filling out the worksheet they will receive after the presentation. Students will then get to design their Pinatas.
BANKSY +
Students will come up with nicknames they feel fits their personality best, then they will practice drawing them out on paper in bubble letter format. Students will get to come up with cool characters to draw next to their graffiti-drawn nicknames.
