~TEACHING PHILOSOPHY~

When it comes to my practice in teaching, I make sure that everything I present to my students through my lesson plans teaches them the importance of Unity within their communities and each other, as well as the power they hold in speaking up and standing up for themselves and those around them. I hope to be able to teach students about what really matters in the world. I aspire to help students see the role that they can play outside the classroom in making society more equal and just. 

Through creation, I want my students to be able to express their ideas, visions, emotions, goals, etc.  My mission for my students is to be able to build their confidence in their own creative endeavors. I hope for them to not be afraid to be BOLD and use colors that stand out, while also trying new methods, and seeing what works and what doesn't for them. Kids should not be afraid to make a statement. I believe my Students can gain more than just Artistic skills from my teachings, they can leave my class thinking about the message within the lesson that day and apply it in real life.
