Pursuing art, even if its just for hobby or for profesional reasons, is hard.
One of my wishes was to go to art University. In Puerto Rico, this dream was hard to achieve. One of the reasons behid this was that, the art school I was interested in, was very far away from where I lived, and on the island pursuing art is quite difficult.
I applied to one of the most prestigioues art school in the United States; MICA College of arts. I worked hard on preparing my art portfolio (a picture of me drawing a still life that was a requierment for the portfolio), and I got accepted.
My tears where of joy, but eventually turned into sorrow. My dream of going to art collage was shatterd once again, but this time because financial issues. Even though I was presented with a couple of schoolarships, it wasn't enough for the additional cost of the semesters, let alone all of the other expanses that came with going to University. My eyes became strained and red of all the times I cried because, once again, my dreams seemed unreachable.
But still... I tried and will keep trying. Even if I have to be my own teacher. I'm lucky to have the support of my parents, friends, and artist colleages that motivated me to continue on this journey of creations.
