I'm Rashmi—an artist and your instructor here. If you’re passionate about learning to draw and paint, you’ve come to the right place.
At Art Chakra, I offer comprehensive art instruction for all skill levels—from complete beginners to more experienced artists looking to grow further. Whether you're an adult rediscovering your love for art, a teen refining your skills, a tween just getting started, or a young child exploring creativity, there’s a place for you in my studio.
Classes are held in small, semi-private groups, so I can provide each student with the individual attention and support they need to thrive. As you progress, you'll be introduced to a wide range of mediums—from graphite and charcoal to oil pastels, ink, watercolor, acrylics, and mixed media.

About Instructor
Welcome to Art Chakra, my private studio, where creativity and imagination flourish. I am Rashmi Thakur, a visual artist with over two decades of teaching experience and a deep passion for nurturing artistic expression.
I specialize in guiding students of all skill levels, offering personalized instruction to help them cultivate their unique artistic voice. My studio provides a welcoming space for workshops and classes designed to inspire creativity and enhance technical skills across various mediums, including watercolor, acrylic, ink, oil paints, and textiles.
An active member and current President of Austin’s prestigious Waterloo Artist Group .I have participated in numerous juried art shows. Over the past eight years, I have established a strong presence in the Austin art community, with my work featured in solo and group exhibitions and represented by galleries across Texas, including Austin, Lakeway, Bee Cave, and Dripping Springs. My art has received numerous accolades, including international recognition in a juried competition hosted by the City of Paestum, Italy.
Beyond my personal practice, I am committed to fostering artistic growth within the community. As the founder of Art Chakra, I have mentored students of all ages, sharing my belief in art’s power to inspire, heal, and cultivate mindfulness. I have also collaborated with esteemed organizations such as the Waterloo Watercolor Group, ArtusCo Gallery, and The Hive Gallery and have served as an art competition judge for local schools.
Through my work, I strive to inspire meaningful dialogue, challenge perspectives, and celebrate the enduring beauty of human creativity and connection. Whether you are here to explore your talent or simply enjoy a creative experience, my studio offers a space where imagination knows no bounds.
