Draw a rollercoaster path on a piece of paper, and animate an object/coin go through the rollercoaster. You must use a downward facing camera (your phone is fine) to capture the movement as a stop motion project.
Try to get a realistic sense of movement and weight!
Partner up with someone in class - one person is responsible for creating the beginning and the other one is responsible for the end. Any medium is acceptable for this assignment - the only requirement is that it has to be at least 10 seconds long.
Using Photoshop, create a pendulum that swing infinitely. There must be a sense of weight, slow ins and slow outs, and the path of the swing must be in an arc.
Using animation paper and pencil, traditionally animate two bouncing balls of different weights.
Using animation paper and pencil, animate a flour sack showing anticipation. You are free to make it do as you please.
Using animation paper and pencil, animate one step of a created character. Has to be an original silhouette, and not the one we did in class for the demo.
Using After Effects, Adobe Premiere, or any video editing software, create an animatic using the storyboards you created in class. I require at least one camera move in this animatic.
Select a video game, animated show or movie and create 5 new props, weapons, buildings, or art pieces to help build and expand the world of that media. We aren't designing characters yet, but I will allow at least one background character. It doesn't have to be fully rendered, but having it cleaned up with nice line work is required.
You can send in 5 individual pictures or have it all arranged on one page.
Character Design work can get extremely technical, so in order to achieve your four point turn around, you have to design your character so that you can track their proportions, shapes, and details in an extremely accurate manner.
For the next class session, please bring in the following:
Send me your thumbnails, your 1 pt perspective and 2 pt perspective backgrounds. Each background should be painted showcasing two different times of day (grayscale only).
Save them as .jpegs, not .psds please. I will not accept them as any other file format.
Take all the assignments you have created for the class thus far and put them into a portfolio website. The website must have the following:
